Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Argentine striker Ezequiel Lavezzi after the player passed a medical in the French capital.
Lavezzi arrived in Paris in the afternoon and was quickly examined by PSG’s medical staff, while he then put the finishing touches to a four-year contract.
The Argentine has been handed the number 11 shirt.
Lavezzi is expected to cost PSG around €30M and he has been tracked by last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up for some time.
Indeed, PSG coach Carlo Ancelotti used his extensive contacts in Italian football to have regular reports on the then-Napoli forward compiled.
Lavezzi’s arrival will go some way towards meeting Ancelotti’s expectations for a new striker to spearhead the side’s Champions League push next season.
The 27-year-old scored nine goals in 30 Serie A games last season for Napoli.
