Veteran Portuguese striker Nuno Gomes has signed for English second tier outfit Blackburn Rovers.
The 35-year-old, who will turn 36 on Thursday, has penned a two-year contract at Ewood Park.
Gomes was released by Portuguese top flight side Braga at the end of last season and has been on the lookout for a new challenge.
The striker is vastly experienced, boasting spells with Boavista, Benfica and Fiorentina, in addition to Braga, under his belt.
At international level Gomes played 79 times for Portugal, finding the back of the net on 29 occasions.
He scored his first goal for Portugal against England at Euro 2000.
At Blackburn he will be charged with firing the goals to help the club bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
