Brazilian side Corinthians have won their first ever Copa Libertadores.
Corinthians had drawn the first leg of their final clash against Argentine giants Boca Juniors 1-1, but still had a job to do on home turf to make sure of the trophy.
And they did not disappoint, grabbing a 2-0 win to secure a 3-1 aggregate victory and send their fans into raptures.
The game was a tense affair and Corinthians had to wait until the 54th minute to score the goal which dampened nerves.
It was striker Emerson who found the back of the net, and then he repeated the trick in the 72nd minute to make sure no Boca Juniors comeback could be launched.
"We are going to celebrate now", said Emerson after the final whistle.
"We have to celebrate a lot, we deserve it."
And midfielder Paulinho stressed that the win was one built on team spirit, rather than superstars.
"We do not have a star, but we are a very strong team and Emerson was exceptional tonight."
