Ghana hitman Asamoah Gyan has joined Al Ain on a permanent basis.
Gyan signed for the United Arab Emirates-based club on a season-long loan deal last summer, after telling English Premier League side Sunderland that he wished to head to the Middle East to play his football.
At Al Ain Gyan has been hugely successful, finding the back of the net with alarming regularity and pushing the UAE side to want to make his move a permanent one.
And Sunderland boss Martin O’Neill has been of the view that, should Gyan not wish to return to the Black Cats, he should be sold.
Now a deal has been agreed between the two clubs and Gyan will stay with Al Ain in the UAE.
Al Ain originally paid in the region of £6M to loan Gyan and they are believed to have splashed out a similar amount to sign the forward permanently.
