Diego Forlan has ended his Inter nightmare by signing for Brazilian side Internacional.

The 33-year-old moved to the Nerazzurri last summer from Atletico Madrid as the successor to Samuel Eto’o.

But life in Serie A was hard and Forlan made just 18 appearances in the Italian top flight, scoring only two goals.

Now the Uruguay international will play his football with Internacional for the next three seasons.

Forlan will pick up a lucrative €200,000 per month with the Porto Alegre outfit.

The striker has been keen to experience the Brazilian league for some time – now Internacional have granted his wish.
