FC Porto have snapped up Colombian striker Jackson Martinez from Mexican club Jaguares.
Martinez has been heavily linked with the Portuguese champions for some time and Jaguares even signed a replacement for the player.
There was though a hold up on the terms of the transfer, which threatened to undermine the 25-year-old’s leap into European football.
Those issues have finally been solved though and Martinez has cost Porto a fee of $11M.
The powerful striker has inked a deal running until 2016 with the Portuguese outfit and his buy-out clause has been set at a whopping €40M.
Martinez did have interest from elsewhere, with English Premier League club Liverpool also being persistently linked with a swoop for the Colombian.
