Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow have joined the race for prolific Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz.
Lokomotiv, now managed by former Croatia coach Slaven Bilic, wasted little time getting involved in the hunt for the 25-year-old, sending an offer to his club Trabzonspor, and instantly seeing it accepted.
Now it is up to the Russian giants to thrash out an agreement with the player and convince him to head to Moscow.
"We have agreed with Lokomotiv", said Trabzonspor president Sadri Sener.
"Now it is up to that club to offer a contract and meet with Yilmaz."
The Turkey international is on the shopping list of a number of clubs, with Lazio, Atletico Madrid, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur all having been linked with a bid. And of late another side have begun to look closely at an offer – German champions Borussia Dortmund.
It remains to be seen whether Lokomotiv can convince the striker, who scored 33 goals in 34 Super Lig games last season, that he future is in Russia, or whether the Turkish star will bide his time and wait for more offers to arrive.
