Luuk de Jong has reiterated his desire to leave FC Twente this summer by revealing he did not expect to still be at the Tukkers.
The 21-year-old Dutchman has been the subject of offers from Borussia Monchengladbach and Newcastle United, while Bayer Leverkusen are now expressing an interest in taking him to the BayArena.
Twente though have slapped a €20M price tag on De Jong in an effort to put off his suitors from bidding again and the club want to keep the goalscorer for at least a further year.
De Jong though is not happy with this stance and particularly wanted to join Gladbach; he was under the impression that €12M plus a further €2M in bonuses would be enough for him to move to Borussia-Park.
Now though the Dutchman has started pre-season training at Twente and cannot hide his disappointment.
"I had hoped to not be here", said the forward to De Telegraaf.
"But I am not going to say much about it.
"Everyone has read everything that has been said, so I think I have made my position clear."
