Veteran striker Mateja Kezman has returned to Serbia to join former club Sartid Smederevo.

Now 33 years old, the former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid hitman is training with the side he turned out for when he was just 19.

Kezman is ready to continue his career in the comfort of his homeland after a turbulent few years.

After playing for Atletico Madrid, Kezman joined Fenerbahce in 2006, but was soon on the move again, inking a deal with Paris Saint-Germain, first on loan in 2008 and then permanently one year later.

In the French capital he faltered and was loaned to Zenit St. Petersburg – but failed to convince in Russia.

From there he took the unusual step of joining Hong Kong side South China, then Belarus giants BATE Borisov, before heading back to Hong Kong for another spell with South China.

Now Kezman is poised to return to football with Serbian SuperLiga outfit Sartid Smederevo.

The Oklopnici finished 13th last season.
