Vasco da Gama have snapped up midfielder Wendel on a three-year contract.
The 30-year-old terminated his deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Shabab last week, but has wasted little time in arranging his new destination.
Wendel left Brazilian football in 2006, when he signed for French side Bordeaux.
The midfielder spent five years with the Ligue 1 outfit before joining Al Ittihad.
Then it was on to Al Shabab – but now Wendel will continue his career back in his homeland.
The 30-year-old made six appearances for Brazil’s Under-23 side; he has never picked up a senior cap however.
