Turkish outfit Bursaspor are trying to sign Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure from English champions Manchester City.

The 31-year-old is highly coveted by Bursaspor, who have been speaking to the centre back in an attempt to persuade him to play his football in the Super Lig next season.

And while nothing has been agreed yet, the Turkish side’s coach Ertugrul Saglam insists his team are working hard to sign Toure.

“We have been talking with Kolo over the past few days”, Saglam told the local Turkish media.

“This may be one of the biggest and most significant transfers in the history of the club.

“Nothing is certain until he signs, but we’re working hard to make that happen.”

Toure joined Manchester City from Arsenal in 2009 for £16M.

His campaign last season was interrupted by a six-month ban for failing a drugs test, while he also played at the African Cup of Nations in January.
