Liverpool have signed Italian forward Fabio Borini from Roma.

The Reds have not disclosed how much they have paid for the 21-year-old, but it is believed to be around the €14M mark.

Borini becomes new Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’ first signing of the summer, but more are expected to follow.

The Italian has worked with Rodgers before, having played under the Northern Irishman at Chelsea’s academy and at Swansea City on loan.

And Borini is understandably delighted to have signed for one of England’s biggest clubs.

"It feels really good – and to be back in England as well. It’s a top club that has won a lot of trophies in the past – and will do so in the future we hope as well", the former Parma striker told Liverpool’s official website.

"I’ve got the trust of the manager and the club, which for me is very nice and I’m proud to be here."
