Sources in Italy have indicated that AC Milan are looking at bidding for Brazil striker Leandro Damiao when the influx of cash from the sales of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain flows into the Rossoneri’s coffers.

Milan are under serious pressure to make a splash in the summer transfer market once the duo have been sold to PSG – and signing Leandro Damiao would go some way towards answering their fans’ concerns.

The agent of the Internacional striker is believed to be due in Italy imminently, with the future of his client sure to be a topic of discussion.

The Rossoneri have long tracked the exciting forward, but have seen themselves priced out of the race as figures as high as his release clause of €50M have been mooted.

And while it is unlikely that the 22-year-old will cost that much, securing his services from Internacional will still require a significant outlay on the part of Milan.

Damiao has admitted that he is open to a move, stressing as recently as last month that for the right price he could head to Europe.

He will also receive another chance to impress Europe’s elite in their own backyard this summer, when he takes part in the 2012 London Olympic Games as part of Mano Menezes’ Brazil squad.
