Creative midfield schemer Marek Hamsik has insisted that he is happy at Napoli.
Hamsik has been linked with a number of clubs, with most recently wealthy French giants Paris Saint-Germain mooted as being keen on the Slovakian.
But the 24-year-old is a key player for the Azzurri and Napoli are desperate to keep hold of him this summer. And so the Serie A side will be boosted by the midfielder’s words.
"I feel very well at this club and I can’t wait to show that", said Hamsik, looking ahead to the 2012/13 campaign.
The Slovak also insisted that he is not overly concerned by the sale of Ezequiel Lavezzi to Paris Saint-Germain; the Argentine was sold to Carlo Ancelotti’s men earlier this summer – he has taken the number 11 shirt at the Parc des Princes.
"It was a shame that Lavezzi was transferred, but we do have players with enough ability to bridge this gap.
"[Eduardo] Vargas [Napoli’s new Chilean striker, ed.] will demonstrate his quality."
Hamsik will be aiming to fire Napoli back into the Champions League next season. Last season the southern Italian club could only manage a fifth place finish; not good enough for a ticket to Europe’s top club competition.
