Bayern Munich and Holland winger Arjen Robben is looking forward to a fresh start this summer and says that he will not let the demons of last season haunt him one bit.
The Dutch star man endured a tough campaign last season. Firstly, he had to go through the trauma of losing the UEFA Champions League final on penalties with the Allianz Arena outfit.
The player then had to face disappointment with his national team when Holland were evicted in the first round of Euro 2012.
However, the fiery winger says that he has put the disappointments behind him, including his penalty miss in the Champions League final where his failure in extra-time forced the game into penalties.
“I will not look back. The past is the past. I feel fresh and I’m ready for the new season”, said the former Chelsea man while training with his team-mates at the shores of Lake Garda in Italy.
The 28-year-old added that spending time with his family helped him overcome the disappointment and he is ready to start again this season.
“I was away from it all; I spent quality time with family (four weeks). I am delighted to start from scratch. The motivation is even stronger."
The Bavarians will be looking to have all their players in shape for a trend-setting encounter with Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup. The team, including Robben, will be looking to exact revenge against the reigning Bundesliga champions.
