Mathieu Debuchy has reiterated his desire to leave French side Lille this summer, even though coach Rudi Garcia would prefer to keep hold of the full-back.

The France international has been linked with several clubs, although English Premier League outfit Newcastle United and Italian giants Inter have been his most persistent suitors; both have made official bids.

Newcastle look to be in pole position to snaffle up the France international, but Lille will not sell Debuchy until an adequate replacement is lined up.

There is little doubt though that Debuchy wants to quit the 2010/11 Ligue 1 champions.

“Even though I am with Lille and the club is in my heart, I am committed to leaving”, Debuchy told L’Equipe.

“I want to leave LOSC.

“The coach wants me to stay, but I am not changing my mind.”

Debuchy is a key man at Lille and Garcia’s side believe his loss will be keenly felt.

After losing Eden Hazard to Chelsea, while Joe Cole has returned to Liverpool, Debuchy’s departure would be another blow to the northern French club.
