Fabio Coentrao has revealed that he wants to play for Benfica again before he is 30.
The Portuguese full-back joined Real Madrid last summer from the Lisbon giants in a €30M deal which saw Argentine defender Ezequiel Garay make the opposite journey.
Coentrao signed a six-year contract in the Spanish capital and the 24-year-old was one of Jose Mourinho’s title-winning performers last season.
Yet despite just starting what should be a long spell at the Bernabeu, Coentrao is already giving some thought to returning to the club he played for between 2007 and 2011 – Benfica.
“Let me go back before my 30th birthday”, Coentrao told O Jogo.
“I don’t want to return to end my career there, but when I can still help the club”, he added.
