Ajax coach Frank de Boer has moved to play down speculation that the Dutch giants are set to approach Arsenal to loan Japanese winger Ryo Miyaichi.

De Boer wants to add a winger to his squad for next season and Ajax recently missed out on Luciano Narsingh, who joined PSV Eindhoven for €4.1M from Heerenveen.

Miyaichi has been mooted as an alternative and De Boer does admit that he was thinking about the 19-year-old as an option.

But following the leaking of that idea, the Ajax coach has quickly come out to insist that he no longer wants the Arsenal player.

"We spoke about him within the club, but that was about a month ago", De Boer told Eredivisie Live.

"Is he still an option? No, I do not believe so", he added.

Instead De Boer will switch his attention elsewhere in the search for a speedy winger to slot into the Dutch champions’ side for 2012/13.
