Montpellier supremo Louis Nicollin has reacted angrily to talk that the club’s captain Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa could join AC Milan.
Yanga-Mbiwa has just one year remaining on his contract at the Stade de la Mosson and his star is shining brightly following Montpellier’s Ligue 1 title win last season.
The 23-year-old has attracted attention from a number of clubs, including English Premier League sides Arsenal and Newcastle United.
Montpellier however have remained keen to keep hold of Yanga-Mbiwa, especially with a Champions League campaign on the horizon in the new season.
And after losing Olivier Giroud to Arsenal, Nicollin is not even prepared to talk about the possibility of Yanga-Mbiwa signing for Milan.
Asked what he would say if Milan made a move for the defender, Nicollin told France Football "I would say I do not agree.
"Here we go, period, nyet!"
Milan then will have a difficult task in taking Yanga-Mbiwa from Rene Girard’s French champions if they do launch a bid.
