Edinson Cavani will not be leaving Napoli this summer for less than €100M, the club’s president Aurelio De Laurentiis has pledged.

The prolific Uruguayan has been linked with a number of clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester City – Roberto Mancini insisted in June that choosing between the 25-year-old and Robin van Persie would be impossible – but so far has remained at the San Paolo.

And that is exactly where De Laurentiis wishes for him to stay, with the 23 goals that Cavani scored in last season’s Serie A being hard to replace, especially in light of Ezequiel Lavezzi’s big money sale to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.

Indeed, the only thing that would change De Laurentiis’ mind is a bucketload of euros being delivered to his offices in Naples.

"He is not for sale, but we could let him go for €100M", the Napoli supremo told Sky Italia.

"This is not his actual value, but the value I have placed on him – and he will not go for less than that."

Cavani still has four years left on his contract with Napoli, with his current deal running until 2016.

His new asking price of €100M is €30M more than De Laurentiis demanded last month.
