AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has given an indication that the Rossoneri will try their best to take Kaka back to the San Siro.
Kaka is thought to have been told in a meeting with Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho that he cannot be guaranteed a first-team place this season, making him surplus requirements at the Bernabeu.
The news has alerted several big clubs around the world and a bidding war may well ensue in order to decide who takes the former World Player of the Year.
Milan are one of the strongest candidates to buy the Brazilian attacking midfielder as the player is believed to prefer to join his former club rather than to move to any other side.
Galliani has also seemingly got his heart set on bringing the Brazilian international back to Italy.
When he was asked about whether the Italian giants would make a move for Kaka, Galliani replied: “Some loves never end. They drift away and then they come back”, indicating that the Rossoneri will surely look to lure back the gifted individual.
The Serie A giants are likely to face tough competition from Brazilian side Corinthians, France’s Paris Saint-Germain and MLS outfit New York Red Bulls however, and Milan’s weak financial position may well prove to be a stumbling block. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri are unlikely to be able to pay more than €10M to bring back the player who spent six wonder seasons at the San Siro – which is less than Real Madrid are currently demanding for the Brazilian.
In addition Kaka would have to take a 50% pay cut on the salary he is earning with Los Blancos in order to become a part of the Milan squad again.
With Italy the 30-year-old’s preferred destination, the Rossoneri would though love to welcome back their star man and boost the morale of fans, that has dropped badly after the departure of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
