Ajax right-back Gregory van der Wiel is fielding interest from several clubs, but is frustrated over the uncertainty about where he will be playing next season.
The Dutch defender has been linked with various teams this summer, but according to the youngster no concrete offers have been made so far and any potential interest has yet to be turned into a formal bid.
While talking to the reigning Dutch champions’ official website, Van der Wiel indicated that he would consider any offer and revealed his frustration over not knowing where his future lies.
"I am currently not in advanced talks with anyone as nobody has placed a concrete offer yet. I will take clubs who come up with concrete offers seriously”, commented the 24-year-old, adding "It is better to know where you stand and where you will be in the near future.”
However the defender, who has only one year left on his contract, stressed that even though a move to a potentially bigger side has not yet materialised, he is not unhappy at Ajax and would not mind plying his trade at his boyhood club for another season: “I feel good at this club, it is in my heart. I am a pure Amsterdammer and feel that it is an honour to play for this club.”
However, it may be in the best interests of both the 2011 Eredivisie winners and the 24-year-old to part ways this summer as the Dutch giants could cash in before the player’s contract ends, while Van der Wiel would be able to join a side which matches his ambition.
It is though unclear where the Dutch right-back will start the new season.
