Liverpool have agreed a fee to loan out-of-favour striker Andy Carroll to West Ham United, according to the BBC.

Carroll appears to have no future at Anfield under new Reds manager Brendan Rodgers and is available for transfer.

The England international’s previous club Newcastle United had an offer rejected earlier in the transfer window, but now West Ham’s loan with a view to a permanent move has found favour on Merseyside.

West Ham will pay Liverpool £2M to take Carroll on loan for the entire 2012/13 campaign, with a view to a permanent £17M transfer at the end of the season.

It remains to be seen what events will trigger that, be it appearances for the Hammers or Sam Allardyce’s men surviving in the Premier League.

It is also unclear what Carroll’s attitude towards the potential switch is.

The 23-year-old has been believed to favour a return to St. James’ Park.
