Matias Suarez’ big money move to CSKA Moscow is in doubt after he failed his medical at the Russian club.
Anderlecht have agreed a fee to sell the Argentine to CSKA, thought to be about €14.3M, and Suarez was expected to quickly wrap up the switch.
But in the Russian capital, there have been concerns about Suarez’ knee after medical tests were carried out.
The 24-year-old suffered from inflammation of the patellar tendon earlier this year.
Now CSKA are set to carry out further tests to determine whether Suarez needs an operation, which could derail the transfer.
Suarez impressed with Anderlecht last season and was top scorer in the Europa League before the Belgian side went out of the competition after Christmas.
