Cristiano Ronaldo has called for Kaka to remain at Real Madrid, insisting that the Spanish champions need to keep hold of their best players.

Kaka has been linked with the exit door at the Bernabeu after slipping down the pecking order at the club.

The side the Brazilian left to join Real Madrid in 2009, AC Milan, have been consistent in their desire to take the midfielder back to Italy, though the cost of doing so has been a concern.

Ronaldo though is hoping that Kaka remains in the Spanish capital and the Portuguese would be sad to see his team-mate go.

“I think he is going to stay”, said Ronaldo, striking a confident note.

“I would like to see Kaka stay because I think the best players have to be in Madrid”, added the Portuguese.

If Kaka does remain at Real Madrid then he will surely have his work cut out securing regular first team football, especially if Luka Modric arrives from Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer window closes.
