Marseille coach Elie Baup has insisted that he needs to add another defender to his squad before the transfer window closes.

In France the window is due to remain open until 4th September, but the clock is ticking for Baup to secure the new defender he has his heart set on.

"The priority is a defender", Baup told French radio station RMC.

"[Souleymane] Diawara is out until October. Leyti N’Diaye is also injured for another 15 days", added the Marseille coach.

"We do not have many solutions. I need to have another confirmed player."

Baup is confident though that his situation will be solved and has stressed that he is in touch with president Vincent Labrune and sporting director Jose Anigo "every hour".
