As expected, Juventus have completed the signing of Nicklas Bendtner from Arsenal on a season-long loan deal.

The Bianconeri will have the option to buy the striker next summer for a fixed fee should he impress in Turin.

Bendtner has been desperate to exit Arsenal, where first team opportunities are limited; the forward spent last season on loan at Sunderland.

For Juventus, the capture of Bendtner brings to an end the club’s hunt for a new striker, after moves for Edin Dzeko, Dimitar Berbatov, Fernando Llorente and Gonzalo Higuain proved futile.

The Bianconeri will compete to defend their Serie A title this season, while there is also a return to the Champions League on the agenda, where the club have been drawn with Chelsea, Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Nordsjaelland in Group E.

Bendtner will be aiming to make an impact and persuade the Bianconeri of the merits of making his stay a permanent one.
