Liverpool have completed the signing of young striker Samed Yesil from Bayer Leverkusen.

The Anfield side are adding the 18-year-old to their youth side and hope to have uncovered a gem in the hitman.

Yesil finished second in the scoring charts at the 2011 FIFA Under-17 World Cup for Germany, finding the back of the net six times in Mexico and further strengthening Liverpool’s interest in him.

The German is delighted to have joined the Reds and is already setting his sights on breaking through into the first team.

"The first thing is that I have to train and then in one or two years I hope, step by step, to be in the first team", Yesil told Liverpool’s official site.

"It is my dream to play for Liverpool and I will give my all", he concluded.

Yesil joined the youth ranks at Leverkusen in 2005, but now continues his career in England.
