Thorgan Hazard has stressed that he is not his brother Eden Hazard in an attempt to play down expectations at new club Zulte Waregem.

The younger Hazard was reunited with Eden over the summer, when Champions League winners Chelsea swooped to sign him from Lens.

The Blues quickly decided that a loan spell would be better for Thorgan Hazard and sent him to Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem, where they hope regular first team football in the Jupiler Pro League will speed up his development.

Thorgan Hazard played for Zulte Waregem against Leuven at the weekend, helping his new club to a 1-0 win. It was a result which ensured Zulte Waregem held onto second place in the Belgian top flight, just behind Club Brugge.

Many eyes are on Thorgan Hazard, due to his brother and his switch to Chelsea, but the midfielder has been keen to play down comparisons and has made an attempt to take some of the pressure off his shoulders.

"I just wanted to play, to have fun, to have fun on the pitch", said the Belgian.

"The most important thing was the victory and the three points which allows us to be in the top three.

"I am not the same player as my brother.

"Since I was small I was told that I have some technical skills. I am trying to play my game, simply, and I tried some things."

And Thorgan Hazard well understands why Chelsea have sent him out on loan.

"Zulte Waregem allow me to have game time. This is what I wanted. At this early stage in my career, at my age, I just want to play."
