Lille goalkeeper Mickael Landreau believes that Lyon sold Hugo Lloris to Tottenham Hotspur too cheaply.

Lloris was snapped up by the English Premier League giants on the final day of the summer transfer window, after weeks of haggling with Les Gones over the price to be paid for the 25-year-old.

relatedNewsStory Lyon initially wanted €20M for the France number 1, but then dropped that to €15M, which Spurs were still not willing to match.

In the end both teams came to an agreement which is thought to have netted Lyon between €10M and €12M, and has a number of add-ons which could mean the final figure reaches €15M.

For Lille goalkeeper Landreau, the amount Les Gones ended up bagging for Lloris, who is widely seen as the best French shot-stopper at present, was far, far too low.

And Landreau thinks that Spurs could have afforded a greater sum.

"In my opinion, €10M for Hugo Lloris is not much", Landreau told RTL.

"It could have been much, much more, especially because it was a club like Tottenham", he added.

Lloris has been replaced at the Stade Gerland by the club’s number 2, Remy Vercoutre.

In London meanwhile, Lloris faces a tough battle with American goalkeeper Brad Friedel for a starting spot between the sticks at White Hart Lane.
