Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has stated his belief that the Reds have been dealt an unlucky hand with their start to the season.

The Merseyside giants are still without a win in the Premier League, despite having played five games so far, and it is the club’s worst start to a league season for over 100 years; the Reds have just two points on the board so far.

relatedNewsStory Liverpool could grab a much-needed three points later today, when they visit Carrow Road to play Norwich City but, whatever happens, Suarez is keeping the faith.

Indeed, the Uruguayan international is putting his side’s poor start down squarely to a lack of luck.

"It makes it more difficult when your opening fixtures of the season are against strong teams like Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United – they are not easy games", he told Liverpool’s official site.

"We also have new manager and I think we’ve been a bit unlucky at times, but we’ve been playing the kind of football he wants us to play", added the former Ajax forward.

And Suarez is in no doubt about what Liverpool must now do.

"What everyone clearly wants from now on is to pick up as many points as we can.

"Everyone is keen to turn the situation around and put an end to what’s happened in the last few games."

The pressure is now on for Liverpool to beat Norwich and then go on a run of winning games which would see them rise up the Premier League table.

Should wins prove illusive however, pressure will surely start to mount on new manager Brendan Rodgers, who had just one season of Premier League experience when he succeeded Kenny Dalglish in the summer.
