Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena believes that FC Porto have shown the way to beat Paris Saint-Germain.

And with Marseille hosting PSG at the Stade Velodrome in a crucial Ligue 1 match this evening, Valbuena has taken note and told his side to look to the Portuguese giants for the secret formula to put Carlo Ancelotti’s men to the sword.

relatedNewsStoryPSG went down to a 1-0 defeat in Portugal against Porto in their Champions League clash in midweek – and the hosts thoroughly deserved the victory.

Valbuena was paying attention.

"I saw a beautiful Porto, that had a lot of movement, mobility and physicality", said the 28-year-old.

"As soon as they lost the ball, we saw them harassing the Parisiens, which gave them difficulty.

"Let’s base ourselves on what Porto did.

"They gave us ideas."

Valbuena is now sure that, despite PSG’s power, they can be stopped.

"Even if they are the favourites to win the league, they are not unbeatable. And if you are first, that is the proof."
