Zinedine Zidane has promised to coach the France national team some day in the future.

The Frenchman, who is set to take in Spain’s clash against Les Bleus on Tuesday, is currently studying for his coaching qualifications.

relatedNewsStoryJose Mourinho had indicated recently that Zidane, who is the Real Madrid’s director of football, had left the Spanish giants to pursue them, although the Frenchman was quick to deny that.

What is clear though is that the 40-year-old is pushing ahead with his coaching plans and the absolute top of the game is where the former midfielder sees himself.

"I’ll go to the game with a lot of people, French and Spanish", Zidane told L’Equipe when asked about whether he is planning to attend the crucial Spain v France 2014 World Cup qualifier.

Pressed on his future coaching plans, Zidane is clear about one goal.

"Someday I will train the France national team, because it means a lot to me", he said.

Zidane hung up his boots as a player in 2006, ending his career at Real Madrid.

He clocked up 108 caps for France over a 12 year international spell.
