Spain boss Vicente del Bosque believes that midfielder Yohan Cabaye is France’s Xavi.
Del Bosque places Barcelona pass-master Xavi at the heart of all that is good about the European and world champions and, with Spain due to meet France this evening in a vital World Cup qualifier, the former Real Madrid boss has been running the rule over his side’s opposition.

"He is probably the most talented player that France have in the midfield", commented Del Bosque.
"He takes set pieces, he controls the game.
"He is a bit like their Xavi."
Comparing Cabaye to Xavi is a real compliment from Del Bosque, given the Barcelona man’s importance to Spain.
And for France to have any hope of beating Spain at the Vicente Calderon, Cabaye will need to be at his string-pulling best.
