France celebrated their 1-1 draw against Spain on Tuesday night in a manner akin to a victory after scoring a dramatic late goal.

Les Bleus fell behind in the first half to a Sergio Ramos goal, while Spain also had the chance to go 2-0 up, but Cesc Fabregas spurned his penalty.

relatedNewsStoryDidier Deschamps’ men continued to battle though and eventually got their reward in injury time.

Midfielder Moussa Sissoko intercepted a pass, played the ball to Franck Ribery, who sent a cross over for Arsenal hitman Olivier Giroud.

The striker then angled a header home, breaking Spanish hearts and handing France what could be a crucial point in their battle to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

It was therefore little surprise that France’s stars, including Patrice Evra, Laurent Koscielny and Giroud himself, celebrated the point with vigour.
