Anzhi Makhachkala have remained top of the Russian Premier League and increased their lead to an injury time winner against Spartak Moscow in Dagestan.
The home side were without coach Guus Hiddink, who injured his knee earlier this week and thus did not make the journey from Moscow (where Anzhi have their training base) to Dagestan, leaving assistant boss Zeljko Petrovic to take over.
relatedNewsStoryThe game did not go according to plan for Anzhi in the first half, when Spartak Moscow took the lead through Diniyar Bilyaletdinov in the 36th minute.
Anzhi looked much better after the break and started to impose themselves on the game, eventually getting their reward when striker Lacina Traore levelled the match with a goal in the 63rd minute.
The home side had to wait until the last kick of the game to grab three points though, needing the help of Juan Manuel Insaurralde, who scored an own goal in the 94th minute.
And, so late in the match, there was no way back for Spartak Moscow.
The result leaves Anzhi top of the pile, with 29 points from 12 games.
Spartak Moscow meanwhile sit seventh, on 19 points from 12 games.
Elsewhere, reigning champions Zenit St. Petersburg beat Kuban Krasnodar 1-0 to remain just five points behind Anzhi.
