Borussia Dortmund have received a boost with the news that Poland defender Lukasz Piszczek has extended his contract with the club.

In recent days Piszczek had been mooted as a potential target for Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, but the 27-year-old has committed his future to Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Piszczek has penned a fresh contract running until 2017 and was quick to explain that he sees his future at Dortmund and not anywhere else.

"I’ve been playing with Dortmund for two years and I feel fully in tune with the football culture, really close to the club and to the BVB fans", Piszczek told Dortmund’s official site.

"This is great recognition for me and a commitment to me and in the years to come, for me to be playing for this exceptional team."

Piszczek was snapped up by Dortmund in 2010 from Hertha Berlin.
