Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath accepts that the club’s fans have every right to be disappointed with the side’s performance so far this season and insists he will take their criticism on board.
The Wolves slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home against Freiburg on Saturday, a result which put Magath’s men bottom of the Bundesliga with only five points from eight games.
Wolfsburg have conceded 15 goals which, while not the main cause of their issues, is dire when stacked up against just two goals scored.
Magath, who returned to Wolfsburg in March 2011, was expected to lead the club back to the glories he had previously brought, which included the Bundesliga title itself in 2009.
But the side’s form is giving fans genuine cause for concern.
"After the 2-0 defeat, we should listen to the criticism", said Magath.
relatedNewsStory"I think that criticism from the supporters is understandable.
"No one can be satisfied after a performance like the one on Saturday."
However, despite Wolfsburg’s poor league form, Magath did stress he is not ready to consider his own position at the Volkswagen Arena and feels he has the board’s full support.
"I have no reason to doubt my own position.
"I am sure the board supports me."
Next up for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga are two potentially key away trips, the first to Fortuna Dusseldorf and then to Nurnberg.
