Roma icon Francesco Totti has been made a big money offer to move to Russia, according to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport.

The forward met with the vice-president of the Russian Football Federation yesterday in Rome and was made an astonishing offer by Nikita Simonyan, who was responsible for conducting negotiations to appoint Fabio Capello as Russia coach on a lucrative contract recently.

And according to Corriere dello Sport, Simonyan was clear about what he could do for Totti in Russia when the two met.

"I am sure that you do not have money problems", he said, "but you should know that we are willing to spend a lot for you to come and play.

"If you call me in 24 hours, we’ll find a team that will take you with their eyes closed."

Totti, caught by surprise, is reported to have replied: "Thank you, you never know."

relatedNewsStoryTotti has turned out for Roma for his entire career and it looks unlikely that the club icon will opt to head elsewhere, no matter the riches on offer.

But, having vowed to play on until he is 40, the Italian does have ample time to taste a foreign adventure.

Totti has made over 500 appearances for Roma in Serie A since making his debut in 1993.
