Fierce rivals River Plate and Boca Juniors played out a 2-2 draw last night, but events on the pitch were overshadowed by violence off it.
Stewards at the match were attacked by Boca Juniors’ fans, with 25 people hospitalised as violence errupted at the Superclasico.
"There were 25 people injured, but nobody was killed", a member of the medical team at the ground was quoted as saying.
Events on the pitch were hugely entertaining, with River Plate rushing into a 2-0 lead at the El Monumental stadium.
When the host scored their second with 70 minutes on the clock, it seemed all over.
But Boca Juniors hit back.

The result sees River Plate sit ninth in the standings after 12 games.
While Boca Juniors are sixth.
