Liverpool midfielder Suso is not surprised at the impact his compatriot Michu has had in the Premier League this season.
Michu joined Swansea City from Rayo Vallecano over the summer after a successful season in La Liga, which saw him hit the back of the net 15 times in the Spanish top flight.
Despite speculation that he may have headed elsewhere, Swansea swooped in to seal a deal for the 26-year-old, agreeing a fee of around £2M with Rayo Vallecano.
Michu has adapted almost instantly to the demands of the Premier League and scored a brace on his Swansea debut against QPR on the opening day of the season.
He has since hit a further four goals in the English top flight, proving to be a wise signing by manager Michael Laudrup.
But his impact has not surprised countryman Suso, who rates Michu highly.
relatedNewsStory"Rayo Vallecano are not a big team in Spain, but it doesn’t matter what team you’re at – if you’re a good player, you’re always going to show people you have the capacity to be at a good club or play in the best league, which is the Premier League", Suso told Liverpool’s official site.
"Being honest, I am not surprised – he is a good player and can score a lot of goals."
The midfielder is hoping Michu has an off day this evening though, when Liverpool face Swansea in the League Cup. Indeed, Suso is aiming to help Liverpool reach the final for the second successive season.
"When we were there last season, it was a beautiful day. It was really, really nice. If we can repeat that again, it will be fantastic."
