Swansea City midfielder Michu is hoping to come out on top when he meets an old friend at Liverpool this evening.

Michu and co. travel to Anfield for a League Cup tie, with a quarter-final spot up for grabs, and he expects to see a familiar face lining up across from him in Daniel Pacheco.

The Liverpool youngster spent last season on loan at Spanish club Rayo Vallecano, the same club Michu starred for in La Liga last year.

Michu hit 15 goals in the Spanish top flight and has fond memories of playing alongside forward Pacheco.

"I know Daniel very well from his time on loan at Rayo", Michu told Swansea’s official site.

"He is a really good guy and a talented player.

"We have spoken to each other in the last few days about the game, and everyone is really looking forward to it.

"For us it’s a great chance to get into the quarter-final for the first time in the club’s history, so hopefully I will be the one celebrating and not Daniel."

Pacheco has played twice for Liverpool this season, turning out for the Reds in the Europa League and the League Cup.
