Bayern Munich sporting director Matthias Sammer has refuted claims by Holland boss Louis van Gaal that the Bavarians are run like Uli Hoeness’ own personal fiefdom.

Van Gaal, who coached Bayern Munich between 2009 and 2011, leading the club to the 2010 Champions League final, was explaining that he has always returned for second stints at his former clubs, but cannot see that happening at the Bavarians, given how Hoeness, whom he believes is all-powerful, wanted him out.

The Dutchman then explained how Hoeness dominates the Bayern Munich landscape.

Sammer, who joined Bayern Munich just months ago, has hit back though, insisting that that is not his experience of life inside the German giants.

"At Bayern Munich everyone has a say, it’s absolutely not a one-man show.

"In his position I would not have said that.

"All the decisions are taken together with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Karl Hopfner. That is my experience of the last 120 days."

Van Gaal must still work with Bayern Munich, given that the Bavarians boast star Holland international Arjen Robben within their ranks.
