Inter striker Diego Milito has played down the importance of his side’s Derby d’Italia meeting against Juventus in Turin tomorrow.
Andrea Stramaccioni’s men have closed the gap to Juventus to just four points in Serie A, meaning a Nerazzurri win would cut the deficit to just a single point.
Milito knows that would be a big step forward, while defeat would be a blow, though the Argentine is keen to play down the importance of just one match.
"It is an important game, but it isn’t essential [to win]", said the striker.
"We’re only in the eleventh match and the lead is four points, which is not very many."
Milito does though have vast respect for a Juventus side which strolled unbeaten to the Serie A title last season.

"And, if they continue in this way, it will be hard to catch them."
Milito will be hoping to continue his own good start to the season tomorrow.
The 33-year-old striker has found the back of the net five times in ten games for the Nerazzurri, a strike rate of one goal every two games. He scored from the penalty spot in the side’s last game, a 3-2 win over Sampdoria.
