Hulk’s sister has been kidnapped in Brazil, the police of the state of Paraiba have confirmed.
The striker currently plays for Zenit St. Petersburg in Russia and was the subject of a big money move from FC Porto over the summer, costing Luciano Spalletti’s men around €40M.
Kidnappings of the family members of footballers are all too common in Brazil, with the gangs who commit the crime demanding ransoms for release.
Hulk’s 22-year-old sister was forced out of her car, parked outside a restaurant, on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened near Campina Grande in eastern Brazil.
Hulk is the latest in a long line of players to be targeted.

Hulk will hope that the Brazilian police are able to quickly bring about a safe resolution of the situation and free his sister.
