Fulham manager Martin Jol believes that Arsenal are going to struggle to win trophies on a regular basis with big spending clubs Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United pushing for success.

Already this season the Gunners seem to be losing touch with what is rapidly becoming a "big three" at the top of the Premier League and there is no sign of the club’s long wait for silverware ending soon.

Arsenal have not won a trophy since picking up the FA Cup in 2005 and, Jol believes, are firmly up against it given the deep, deep pockets of some of the club’s competitors.

"Can you expect a team like Arsenal to win things with Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, all these clubs?", the Fulham boss was quoted as saying by the BBC.

The Dutchman also thinks that if Arsenal decided to remove Wenger in the search for glory, they might quickly find themselves regretting it.

"Of course, it’s probably not what an Arsenal fan wants.

"Seven years? That’s a long time.

"Maybe in three years’ time, they will hope and pray to get someone like Wenger."

Jol takes his Fulham side to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday and will be looking to pile the pressure on Wenger by inflicting defeat upon the Gunners.

Last season the Cottagers earned a creditable draw at Arsenal, while they have not been beaten by the Gunners in the last three meetings between the clubs.
