AC Milan are set to offer Arsenal and Everton the opportunity to buy M’Baye Niang in the January transfer window.

Both English clubs were interested in the 17-year-old forward over the summer, but Milan won the race to sign Niang from French outfit Caen, paying a basic €1.7M fee, although the final total could reach €3M with add-ons.

However, Niang has struggled to make much of an impact at the Rossoneri and Milan were mooted to be considering sending him out on loan, but now an outright sale could be on the cards.

According to Sportmediaset, the Serie A giants will open the door for Arsenal and Everton to rekindle their interest in the forward when the winter window opens.

Niang spent time on trial at Arsenal last summer, while Everton were concrete bidders for him.

The 17-year-old, who played 23 times in Ligue 1 last season for Caen, went on record soon after landing in Italy to state he was convinced he had made the right decision by snubbing Everton for Milan.

Niang also admitted that he knew he had to work hard in order to gain a spot in coach Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

Niang is under contract with Milan until 2015.

He has made one appearance in Serie A this season, while he was last in action in October for France Under-21s against Norway Under-21s.
