Sevilla defender Federico Fazio has admitted he would be prepared to leave La Liga, but only to move to the English Premier League, Italian Serie A or German Bundesliga.

The Argentine was wanted by Russian giants Zenit St. Peterburg recently and Luciano Spalletti’s men even had a bid accepted by Sevilla for Fazio. However, the defender could not agree personal terms with Zenit and was cold on heading to Russia.

And so he returned to Spain.

But Fazio would be open to leaving, something which may be music to the ears of his suitors, of which English Premier League side Liverpool can be counted as one.

"Zenit offered a lot and I came very close", he told Spanish daily Estadio Deportivo.

"I went out there and the conditions were good for me, but the truth is that I wasn’t convinced and I preferred to stay", he continued.

"Playing in the Premier League, in Italy or Germany would be good someday.

"If they came now, the door would be open. I have a few years left on my contract with Sevilla but I could leave in the summer."

Sevilla have been suffering under the weight of financial difficulties and selling Fazio in the summer could be an irresistible option for the Spanish giants.

He is though set to be picky about to where exactly he heads, with only a comparable league set to take his fancy.
