The agent of FC Porto coach Vitor Pereira has played down speculation that his client is being lined up to succeed David Moyes at Everton.

It has been suggested that the Porto boss is wanted at Goodison Park by Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright, with Moyes’ contract due to expire at the end of the current campaign.

But Pereira’s agent, Christophe Henrotay, is keen to play down the talk and dubbed any idea that the 44-year-old is set for Everton as just “rumours”, insisting that decisions over the man who served as Andre Villas-Boas’ assistant will only be made at the end of the season.

“He will not hold talks or discussions until the end of the season, and then plan his future with the directors. Do not take it for granted that he does not continue”, Henrotay told Portuguese daily O Jogo.

“Of course, there is contact from various clubs, that is normal, but to say anything else has happened is just a rumour.

“Now is not the time for talks.”

Pereira’s Porto currently sit second in the Portuguese Superliga, four points adrift of league leaders Benfica.
