Arsenal have been given a boost in midfielder Abou Diaby’s injury timeline with news that the player’s recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament rupture is on track.
Diaby was forced onto the sidelines after suffering the injury during training in March, and the Frenchman’s season ended with just 11 league games played.
The ligament injury was the second major setback for him this season, as a thigh strain had kept him out of most of the early part of 2012/13.
He is expected to be fully recovered by Christmas, and the former Auxerre player told L’Equipe: "I’ve got rid of my crutches. Now I have to walk.
